Everything a plant list needs, under one roof.

R&M Plant Procurement serves landscape professionals by growing, sourcing and delivering plant material for residential and commercial projects. We take on jobs of all sizes and handle complete plant schedules along with everything associated with them.

Plant procurement & sourcing

We can source complete project lists or help locate individual material that has been difficult to find — trees, shrubs, perennials, natives, wetland and mitigation stock, specimen and sculpted plants, B&B, container, bare-root, bulbs, plugs, seeds and cuttings. If we bid it, the price is based on the complete bid; changing quantities can move the pricing in either direction.

Our nursery

R&M is a licensed and inspected nursery growing hard-to-find specialty and boutique material that the supply chain can't grow consistently. As a wholesale nursery we receive, inspect, monitor, organize and care for plants — weeding, fertilizing, watering, deadheading — before delivery. We are not open to the public.

Custom growing

R&M can arrange custom growing or grow selected material in-house. Advance planning helps secure the right species, sizes and quantities for future projects.

Our trucks

R&M owns and operates its own delivery vehicles, which gives us total control from nursery pickups through unloading, re-loading, scheduling and transportation. Our drivers understand nursery stock big and small, know how to move it carefully, and have an almost flawless record. We deliver to contractor yards, offices, project sites and other approved locations throughout our service area.

Heavy equipment & operator services

R&M owns heavy equipment and moves big, heavy specimen trees. If a client doesn't have the equipment needed to unload the trees they're purchasing, we offer equipment service for offloading, including the machine and an operator on site. Pricing depends on travel time and load size.

Holding & advance orders

Construction schedules change. We hold plant material long term so that when you're ready, your plants are the same great material they were the day they were supposed to ship. We also love it when you book in advance — we book up to two years out, which opens the door to large custom grows, hard-to-find specified material, and seasonal procurement (B&B trees dug in winter for spring and summer install, held in our sawdust beds or potted up).

How we calculate cost

We are a service business. Our pricing includes procurement, growing, storage, delivery, labor and fuel. A bid from us will not be an apples-to-apples comparison to any other nursery or broker — every bid is customized per job based on variety, size, availability, location, number of pickups and delivery. What we offer is unlike any other business in agriculture and landscape. If you're looking for low cost and no service, we recommend you do it yourself.

Our quality

We can't stress it enough. We are proud of our plants, our quality is top notch, and we work very hard to make it that way. Our team reviews material for identity, size, condition, structure, labeling and project requirements. We inspect plants before they're accepted and again as orders are prepared for delivery. Every single plant is inspected one last time before it is loaded. Each plant is hand-weeded and de-slugged. If you know, you know — if we had a crystal ball to show you the difference this makes in two years, we would.

What we don't do

R&M is not free labor. Being straight about this up front saves everyone a bad delivery day.

  • Our drivers are capable and knowledgeable, and they're glad to help: they'll work in the truck, bring material to the back, help you check your order and arrange it on the ground by variety.

  • Our drivers will not offload material by themselves. If you can't be on site with an appropriately sized crew, tell us in advance and we'll send a crew at an additional charge.

  • We will not move trees without proper equipment, and we don't consider it part of our service to break our backs unloading heavy material because a crew or machine wasn't on site.

  • R&M does not place plant material at the job site. Our drivers deliver off the back of the truck, to the point our trucks have safe access.
